According to the mid-year financial report of the French luxury goods giant Hermes Group, its own-brand exclusive stores had a significant increase in sales volume, and Hermes is planning to strengthen the development of its exclusive store to enter new market or to pick up the pace of opening new exclusive stores in original markets.

Data shows that the gross operating income in the first half of Hermes Group has increased by 7.6% to 875 million Euros, with the revenue of its own-brand exclusive stores increased by 19%. And the operating income of its exclusive stores across the globe has all gained increase except Japan, but the wholesale business of perfume, watch and accessories had reduced by 22%, which is a drag on the overall revenue growth rate.
The strong contrast between the two main businesses forced Hermes Group surrender to the fact. Hermes claimed that by the end of this year Hermes would open 8 more new exclusive stores, among which three of them would be in Sao Paulo of Brazil, Istanbul of Turkey and Panama in Central America. This was the first time for Hermes to enter these three markets. Besides, the other five exclusive stores would be in Chinese Taipei, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macao and Calgary in Canada.
