Paris Fashion Week Gaultier Wants To Join Hands With Hermes

French fashion house Hermes is brewing changes and this is caused by Jean Paul Gaultier. It’s said that the designer planned to resign from the post of Creative Director after his last collection release for the fashion house in Paris fashion week this October. Besides designing for the Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture lines of his own brand, Gaultier also serves as Creative Director of Hermes. It has been almost six years since he took over this position after Martin Margiela lfet in 2003. But the spokesman of Hermes hasn’t commented on this matter.

During Gaultier’s tenure of office, the release of Hermes has enjoyed high reputation, and great profits as well, and the fashion house even manages to secure its enviable position as a luxury brand in the economic downturn. This July the company has released their positive financial report and announced that by June 30, the sales of the second quarter has rose by 12%, which is 607.4million USD at present exchange rate, with the sales of leather goods increased by 33.4% and that of the ready-to-wear and Haute Couture has grown by 12.7%.
