It’s reported by Textile News of France that the recently published financial report of French luxury tycoon Hermes Group showed that their operating income in the second quarter had increased by 3.9%, that of the leather and saddlery products by 21%, clothes and accessories by 5.4% when textile and silk products by 4.3%. Compared with last year, the total operating revenue of this enterprise has increased by 7.6%, 9% happened in exclusive retail business, but the wholesale sector has dropped by 22%. And the geographical distribution of the business performance suggests that only the markets in France and Asia maintain growth of 0.7% and 4.7% respectively; while the sales in Japan and Europe drop by 9.9% and 2.8%. officials of the group points out that the performance in the first half has given confidence to them to finish their full-year goal. Although the total operating revenue of the enterprise is stable, the main business has declined.
It’s reported that the development strategy of Hermes is to open more exclusive stores, and the group plans to open five more exclusive stores (two in America, one in England, China and South Korea). And basing on these they will open ten more in America and Asia.
